Spring replacement (Master Pogo #2015 Only)

  • All necessary parts are included with the purchase of a replacement spring.
  • Two people are required.
  • Have a helper hold the Pogo on a workbench or floor.
  • Straighten out both bent legs of the cotter pin located below the spring. Use a hammer and punch or a set of pliers.
  • Press two screwdrivers between the lower spring “cup” and the top of the footrest. One screwdriver goes on either side of the 7/8” diameter chrome piston tube. The screwdrivers will take the pressure off the cotter pin, which must be removed.
  • Remove the cotter pin with a pair of pliers.
  • Carefully remove the chrome plated piston tube while your helper holds the spring, preventing it from coming out of the frame assembly.
  • Carefully remove the spring and replace with the new one using two new steel “cups”. NOTE: The cup with the large center hole is used on top of the spring. The plastic bushing must be pressed inside this cup. The steel cup with the small center hole is used under the spring.
  • Use the screwdrivers to separate the lower cup from the footrest.
  • Insert the new cotter pin through the hole in the chrome plated piston tube.
  • Bend the cotter pin legs in opposite directions around the piston tube with a hammer. Make sure the cotter pin is fully inserted and is bent tightly around the radius of the piston tube.
